Commitment to Personal Data
Privacy
BetMGM (operated via the joint venture between MGM Resorts
International and Entain Plc) is committed to protecting your personal data, identity
credentials, and financial information under strict United States state and federal
privacy mandates.
1. Scope and Covered Entities
This Privacy Policy applies to all digital platforms operated under the BetMGM brand, including our
mobile sports betting applications, online casino lobbies, shared-liquidity poker rooms,
and on-premise sportsbook kiosks located at retail partner venues such as MGM Grand
Detroit.
By accessing, registering, or depositing on BetMGM, you consent to the data collection,
telemetry analysis, and reporting standards established in this policy. If you disagree
with these disclosures, you must refrain from accessing our services.
2. Categories of Information Collected
State gaming licensing bodies (such as the Michigan Gaming Control Board, New Jersey DGE,
and Pennsylvania PGCB) mandate stringent Know-Your-Customer (KYC) identity verification:
- Personally Identifiable Information (PII): Full legal name,
residential mailing address, email address, telephone contact number, date of birth,
and Social Security Number (SSN) for mandatory tax and identity screening.
- Financial Account Records: ACH bank accounts, routing details,
credit/debit card numbers, PayPal/Venmo account emails, and full history of
deposits, withdrawals, and bonus redemptions.
- Geolocation Data: Exact GPS coordinates, Wi-Fi MAC addresses, and
cellular tower telemetry captured by certified geolocation services (such as
GeoComply) to establish physical presence inside authorized state borders.
- Device Telemetry & Logins: Browser agent strings, operating system
versions, IP addresses, biometric login timestamps, and anti-fraud screen records.
3. Operational Use of Personal Records
Information collected is processed solely for lawful gaming operations:
- Verifying legal age (21+) and validating that users are not listed on state
self-exclusion registries.
- Preventing bonus abuse, unauthorized proxy wagers, and synthetic identity creation.
- Processing expedited player withdrawals and bet settlements.
- Generating IRS Form W-2G declarations and state tax compliance reporting.
- Calculating and allocating MGM Rewards Tier Credits and digital comps.
4. Information Sharing & Third-Party Disclosures
BetMGM strictly prohibits the sale or commercial dissemination of player records to
third-party marketing brokers. Records are disclosed exclusively to:
- State Regulatory Authorities: Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB),
FinCEN, and law enforcement agencies pursuant to court subpoenas.
- Identity & Geolocation Partners: LexisNexis, GeoComply, and
certified credit evaluation services.
- MGM Resorts International: Synchronizing omnichannel resort
benefits and casino tier progression.
5. Data Retention & Security Standards
Data is guarded using 256-bit TLS bank encryption, multi-tier firewalls, and hardware
security modules (HSM). In accordance with federal Bank Secrecy Act and anti-money
laundering (AML) statutes, player financial records and identity archives are retained
securely for a statutory minimum of seven (7) years following account inactivity.
6. Data Subject Rights & Contact
Residents of applicable states (including CCPA rights in California and equivalent state
disclosures) have the right to request access to personal data, dispute inaccuracies, or
request account closure. Inquiries should be addressed to our Data Privacy Officer:
